Church Membership for Children

Do you have a child interested in becoming a member of Perimeter? We have children's membership classes starting quarterly. If you have a child who is at least eight (8) years old, and wishes to start the membership process, please contact the Children's Ministry at 678-405-2242.

Membership Information for Kids

Does your child always want to "eat the crackers and drink the juice" at Sunday Celebration? Well, that presents you with a great opportunity to discuss the meaning of communion and the requirements for taking it.

Here are the guidelines for children becoming a communicate member.

1.The child should be about eight (8) years old, and the parent should feel that the child is a believer.

2.The child should have a desire to begin the process. It should not be totally parent driven.

3. Parent and child study a wonderful curriculum (written by Bobby Scott, Perimeter Christian School principal) together on their time. You should establish a regular meeting schedule to work on the lessons, with the goal to complete them in approximately 12 weeks.

4. An orientation class to begin the membership process is held once a quarter (dates will be posted in the church bulletin or you may call the Children's Ministry Hotline, 770/582-6690 ext. 2421 or 678/405-2242 for the date of the next orientation class.) At this orientation, you will receive the materials and the process will be explained. Time is allotted for Q&A.

5.Once the lessons are completed, an elder interview is scheduled.

6.Then, the child is scheduled to stand before the congregation and answer the membership questions at the next Sunday Celebration.

7.Obtain child membership information by calling the Children's Ministry Hotline, 770/582-6690 ext. 2421 or 678/405-2242.

Regarding a few other questions:

* Kids in Junior High and Senior High can go to the Inquirer's Class any time for adult membership. However, the Youth Group usually schedules times for these age groups to go together. Check with the Youth Department for specifics.

* We handle baptisms for Junior High and up as an adult profession of faith. We require church membership before baptizing in these age groups.
