KIDS Town Perimeter Church

We hope the following information will help you understand our
PHOTO I.D. BADGE SYSTEM.

When we let go of your child’s hand, we want to make sure that the next one they grasp is yours. As teachers and administrators, we want to be sure that your child is loved and protected. As parents, you want to know that you can worship and fellowship without worrying about the safety of your child. That is why we have the PHOTO I.D. BADGE SYSTEM. Securing KIDS Town for the safety of the children is a high priority. Therefore, we are implementing a photo I.D. Badge program. We want to ensure that only adults with proper credentials (I.D. Badges) are granted access to KIDS Town. Such access would be granted to teachers (servants) in KIDS Town, parents of children in KIDS Town, and staff. Guests and adults who forget their badges will be required to visit an Information Desk for temporary credentials.

  • All adults who serve in KIDS Town are required to wear a photo I.D. badge to gain access to the building.
  • All adults with children in KIDS Town (Newborn through 2nd grade) will be required to wear a photo I.D. badge to gain access to the building.
  • All Perimeter Staff must wear their Staff Name Tag to gain access to the building (staff offices are located in KIDS Town).

The I.D. Badge Process

PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF THE CHILD(REN) WILL BE PHOTOGRAHED TOGETHER; THIS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED FOR SINGLE PARENTS/GUARDIAN. Children are not photographed. The child (birth – 2nd grade) will be issued a name tag by their Room Administrator which will have the photo of their Parent(s)/Guardian(s). This will act as a visual cue for the Administrators when parents retrieve their child(ren). If any one other than the parent is to retrieve a child, the parent(s)/guardian(s) must grant approval on the Badge Application Form. These authorized people will be listed on the back of the child’s nametag. All families who complete the “badging process” will be issued a Family I.D. Number. This number is printed on the parent(s)/guardian(s) I.D. Badge and on the child’s badge. The parent(s)/guardian(s) number MUST MATCH to retrieve the child. The entire process will begin with the parent(s)/guardian(s) completing an I.D. Badge Application Form. The forms will be located at all Information Desks. Parent(s)/guardians(s) are required to complete the form PRIOR to having their photo taken. This will help expedite the process. In most cases, I.D. Badges will be issued on the spot. HERE’S THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE WHOLE SECURITY PROGRAM: You Must Wear Your I.D. Badge to gain access into KIDS Town. This means you must remember to bring your ID Badge each week. If you forget your badge, you will be directed to an Information Desk to secure a temporary pass. There could be (and probably will be) congestion at the desks, so please WEAR YOUR I.D. Badge! Guests to KIDS Town will be directed to an Information Desk for their temporary pass. If they express their intent to be a regular attender, they will be instructed where to have their Photo I.D. Badge made. They will also be given information about their child(ren’s) class and how to get there. Their children will be issued guest I.D. tags by the class Administrator upon entering the class. The guest (parent) will be given a tag that corresponds with the child’s to be used to retrieve the child.

KIDS Town Hospitality Ambassadors

It is our intent to make KIDS Town a friendly yet secure place for our children and adult servants. Our Hospitality Ambassadors are the key in this effort. Our ambassadors welcome members and guests alike to KIDS Town. They are also our front line for enhanced security. Our Ambassadors serve at our Information Desks. Ambassadors to KIDS Town are like Ambassadors to a country: they make people feel welcome. We want all people (members, guests, and children) to feel welcome in KIDS Town.

Ambassador Duties:

Hospitality Ambassadors

  1. Greet parents and children as they enter KIDS Town
  2. Answer questions
  3. Smile a lot
  4. Visually verify I.D. Badges (direct to Information Desks for temporary name tags)
  5. Smile a lot
  6. Give directions to classrooms
  7. Smile a lot (get the picture!)

Information Desks (Ambassadors)

  1. Answer questions
  2. Smile a lot
  3. Give information
  4. Issue temporary name tags for entry into KIDS Town
  5. Smile a lot
  6. Instruct parents to sign up to have Photo I.D. Badge made (especially a member, or regular attender).
  7. Smile a lot (you’ve got it now!!)

It is our intent that any adult who wishes to enter KIDS Town have proper credentials (whether permanent or temporary.) Members (with children) are required to wear their Photo I.D. Badge; teachers and all other KIDS Town servants are required to wear their Photo I.D. Badge; and all staff must wear their nametags, as well. All guests, or members who forget their badge, will be directed to an Information desk to obtain a temporary name tag. We expect this to be a learning process, but we want all adults in KIDS Town to wear credentials. As Ambassadors, you will help us control access to KIDS Town, thus making it as safe and secure as possible.

KIDS Town Hospitality DeskSecurity Procedure

  1. Welcome the guest warmly who approaches you.
  2. Determine whether:
  • They are a guest (if so, have them fill out a “Guest Information” card)
  • They are a member who has not had a badge made
  • They are a member who forgot to bring their badge
  • (In any case, they will need a “temporary Guest badge” to enter KIDS Town)
  • The temporary badges are peel off sticker-type nametags. However, they are special in that they are time-sensitive. They become INVALID after 12 hours. Just peel off the “V” and place it over the pink-circled area. This starts the timed process. Write the person’s name on the badge before giving it to them.
  • Assist them with locating their child’s class.
  • Give them a Room Locator Map.
  • Smile and send them on their way.

KIDS Town Administrative Procedures Security Check-in and Checkout

If the parent/guardian has their Photo I.D. Badge, the child’s badge should be in your room. Verify the numbers match with the parent/guardian, and clip the child’s badge to the child (or diaper bag.) If not, (since we are still working out the bugs), issue them either a pager and log the number, or issue them a number as we presently do (keeping the clip number on the child). [This latter procedure will be used for Guests and members who have yet to obtain their I.D. Badge].

  1. Ask members, and regular attendees, who do not have their photo I.D. badges yet, to have them made today (so they can avoid weekly congestion.)
  2. Photo hours are every Sunday from 10:00 am –11:00 am. Photos are taken in KIDS Town Offices (Midtown)
  3. When the parent/guardian wishes to pick-up their child, verify the numbers match. Remove the children’s tag and retain in the room.
  4. If a parent has their Photo I.D. Badge, but you do not have the child’s badge, take their name and we will research it (and ensure the child has a badge next week).
  5. We need the names of children who are attending your class who normally come on another day (i.e. Child normally comes to Sunday School on Sunday, but has come on Saturday.) We will make that child a badge for his Saturday Evening Classroom, as well as his Sunday morning classroom (please let the Director know the child’s name and parents/guardians names).
